Magazine layout designed for The Hammer’s first issue. The Hammer is a CPCC’s Student Arts and Literature Magazine founded in 2017. Our Digital Print Production class was contacted to be part of this project. The pieces to be featured were awarded works submitted by CPCC’s students on a National Literary Competition and winning artworks from the Annual Juried Student exhibit. The editor in charge was looking for a vibrant and modern style, a celebration of the Arts issue, and a name for the magazine. After a class brainstorming session, The Hammer was the name chosen, being an important tool for a sculptor in his masterpiece creations resembles the tools used for writers and artists when creating a prose or a painting.
